Currently, we have established the Department of Law, Department of Social Work, and Department of Intellectual Property, and have launched three undergraduate majors such as Law, Social Work, and Intellectual Property. Our Social Work major is a national first-class undergraduate major and a master's degree authorization program. Our Law major is a provincial-level first-class undergraduate major.
Currently, we have a total of 60 faculty members, including 48 full-time teachers, 4 professors, 17 associate professors, and 36 teachers with doctoral degrees (including 3 students). We have built 1 provincial talent cultivation base (Social Work Talent Cultivation Base of Guangdong Province), 12 platforms, and 5 DGUT scientific research teams. In the past 5 years, our professional teachers have presided over and undertaken 6 national social science projects, nearly 20 provincial and ministerial-level projects, and 54 vertical projects at municipal-department and below levels, presided over 65 horizontal projects, and published 64 scientific research papers, including 15 on core journals, as well as 15 books.
Focusing on the economic and social development needs of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, we conduct teaching and scientific research in the field of local rule of law, social governance, social work, intellectual property rights, etc. Our graduates are favored by employers, and the proportion of our graduates admitted to the civil services continues to increase every year. Many of our students pursue postgraduate programs at famous universities in China and overseas. After years of development, we have become an important training base for professionals in law, intellectual property, and social work in Dongguan and even the Pearl River Delta region and have formed a good social reputation.
