Wu Yan, Vice Minister of Education and Member of the Party Group, visited Dongguan University of Technology (DGUT) with a team on February 9, 2023, to conduct an on-site examination. Guo Peng, director of the Ministry of Education's Finance Department; Lei Chaozi, director of the Ministry's Science, Technology, and Information Technology Department; Fan Wei, director of the Ministry's Education Quality Evaluation Center; and others also took part. President Ma Hongwei and Party Secretary Cheng Hongbo of DGUT accompanied them on their visit.

Wu Yan began his tour at DGUT College of Science and Technology Innovation, where he heard a briefing from Cheng Hongbo on the development of the new high-level science and engineering university. Wu Yan noted that in order to fully explore the experience of constructing a new high-level university of science and engineering oriented by national strategy and regional industrial demand, DGUT must continue its positive development trend, maintain control of the proper direction of school running, and grasp the practical work measures.
