We have 3 undergraduate majors: Polymer Materials and Engineering, Metal Materials Engineering, and Materials Science and Engineering. Our Materials and Chemical Engineering is a master's degree authorization program. Our Materials Science program is a doctoral program and has been included in the top 1% of ESI's global rankings. Currently, we are applying for a doctoral program for the "Material and Chemical Engineering" program.

Our Materials Science and Engineering major is a key major of DGUT, and a key construction major included in the "be first-class, make up for shortcomings, and have strong features" program in Guangdong Province. Our Polymer Materials and Engineering is a provincial first-class undergraduate major and a provincial-level characteristic major.

We have 4 provincial engineering technology centers for materials, 1 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao joint laboratory, 3 Dongguan key laboratories, as well as a new energy materials research center, and an analysis and testing center. We have established the National Electronic Circuit Substrate Engineering Technology Research Center -- DGUT Branch Center, Guangdong Provincial Engineering Technology Research Center for High-performance Copper Clad Laminate Materials, and Guangdong Provincial Joint Laboratory of Electronic Interconnection and Packaging Materials Innovation, providing first-class platforms for talent training.

Currently, we have 73 faculty members, including 63 full-time teachers, 13 teachers with senior titles, and 22 teachers with deputy senior titles. Among them, there are 3 national high-level talents, 3 provincial scientific and technological talents, 2 innovation and entrepreneurship leaders in Dongguan City, and 7 discipline leaders of DGUT. We have established a teaching and research team with young and middle-aged mainstay experts as the core-the team members have rich overseas and engineering experience, have been engaged in frontier research in materials and worked closely with large scientific installations such as spallation neutron sources. In addition, we have built off-campus undergraduate and postgraduate practice bases and have 31 corporate cooperation instructors. Through the Dongguan Postdoctoral Innovation Base, our Material Science and Engineering major has recruited postdoctoral fellows in conjunction with Xi'an Jiaotong University, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, and other universities.
