DGUT and University of Nottingham have signed Doctoral Joint Scheme

An memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed on February 27th by Dongguan City and University of Nottingham in  Donggguan Administrative Center. On the signing ceremony, DGUT and University of Nottingham has signed Doctoral Joint Scheme.

Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Dongguan Committee Yang Xiaotang and Deputy President of DGUT Yang Minlin, which represent the Dongguan Municipal People’s Government and DGUT, has signed the agreement with Professor Graham Kendall,Pro-Vice Chancellor of The University of Nottingham. Deputy Secretary General of Dongguan Municipal People’s Government Mr. Zhong Bin, Deputy Director of Dongguan Science and Technology Bureau Mr. Wu Meiliang, Deputy Director of Dongguan Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Bureau Mr. Luo Weidong,Director of International Communication Office of DGUT and the Deans of relevant schools in DGUT and UoN have witnessed the signing ceremony.



“The Scheme benefits our university on international talent cultivation, research partnership and cultural communication. Under the key support of Dongguan Municipal People’s Government, we will take this chance to enhance mutual trust and cooperation with University of Nottingham, carry out talent cultivation, discipline construction, technological innovation, and achievements conversion in order to provide qualified personnel, intellectual and technical support.”said Professor Yang Minlin.

University of Nottingham will nominate candidates for admission, be in charge of student status management, nurturing scheme, and degree granting. Students complete basic courses in UoN under it’s supervision; after which their over two-year thesis research will be jointly supervised by both universities; in the last stage, they defense their dissertation in UoN. DGUT has set up scholarship for Doctoral Joint Scheme. The intellectual property produced during the Doctoral Joint Program is owned by both DGUT and UoN.

This is the first Doctoral Joint Scheme since High-level University of Science and Engineering Construction. It has laid the foundation for our International Joint Postgraduate School and promote the internationalization of our High-level University of Science and Engineering Construction.
