DGUT Delegation Obtained Outstanding Achievement on International Cooperation in Australia and Kingdom of Tonga

In order to promote international strategy on construction of high-level science and technology university, extend collaboration, upgrade resource, recruit talents, and engage cultural communication. Australia Kingsway International Educational Group, Curtin University, Swinburne University, Macquarie University, and the Ministry of Kingdom of Tonga invited Secretary of CPC of Dongguan University of Technology (DGUT) CHENG Hongbo and his team to visit Australia and Tonga from November 29th , 2017-December 6th , 2017.

Grand Opening of Dongguan University of Technology Australia Innovation Center
On December 3rd, 2017, the grand opening for DGUT-Australia Innovation Center was held in Sydney. The ceremony was hosted by Pual Nicolaou, President of the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the 28th Prime Minister of Australia Tony Abbott witnessed such an exciting moment. Director of China Center for International Education Exchange YING Kai, Delegations from Australia Commercial Chamber, University of Technology, Sydney, Macquarie University, University of New South Wales and joined the ceremony. Other guests like “Thousand Talents Program” Prof. WANG Guoxiu, “Young Thousand Talents Program” Dr. WANG Yi, Visiting Scholar Dr. WU Wenjian attended the event as well. CHENG Hongbo addressed that the establishment of Australia Innovation Center has significant impact on the globalization of DGUT. In hand with Kingsway International Education Group, DGUT look forward to further the collaboration into next level and achieve win-win situation.

On December 2, 2017, DGUT signed MOU with Swinburne University for international joint-lab and joint-Post-Graduate program. In the future, the School of Chemical Engineering and Energy Technology Of DGUT and Faculty of Science, Engineering and Technology, Swinburne University of Technology will establish Biomass Transfer International Joint-Lab. Through this lab, the two universities will co-train post-graduates.

On December 4, 2017, DGUT signed strategic cooperation agreement with University of New South Wales at New South Wales Parliament House. Secretary of NSW government Jonathan O’Dea witness the assignations. 

Outstanding Talents Recruitment

DGUT has successfully recruited 1 discipline head, and engaged 1 exceptional talents consider joining the University. Meanwhile, DGUT has reached initial cooperation intention with several talents.

Expand Bachelor Student International Co-train Program

On November 9th, 2017, DUGT and Curtin University has reached collaboration initiatives at Guangdong-West Australia Higher Education Collaboration Roundtable. On November 30th, 2017, the two universities official signed credit transfer agreement for bachelor students. By relying on 360 Network Security College of DGUT and Cisco Innovation Center of Curtin University, the two university will start cooperation on software engineer major.

On December 4, 2017, DGUT signed an agreement with University of New South Wales to carry out “311” bachelor-master program, as well as introduce courses and faculty members from University of New South Wales to DGUT.

International College Bridging Program and Undergraduate-Postgraduate Program

On November 30, 2017, DGUT signed an agreement on international cooperation program with Hongkong Global Education Alliance-Perth. In the future, International College will start bridging programs as well as undergraduate-postgraduate program, and provide high quality overseas study services for students in Dongguan and Guangdong Province.

Collaborated with Ministry of Education of Kingdom of Tonga to recruit international students

On December 5th, 2017, CHENG Hongbo and the team visited the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Kingdom of Tonga. The team was well received by ambassador WANG Baodong, Director CHEN Dandan and delegation of Ministry of Education of Kingdom of Tonga. In the future, Ministry of Education of Kingdom of Tonga will select students to come study at International College.
